"One boy made fun of me because one day, I had really curly hair, and I wear glasses normally, and I also bite my nails. I feel like everyone is different in their own way, so, people shouldn't try to make them feel bad because of that."
-Elle on how she relates to her character, Phoebe (aged 10).

INTERACT > FAN STORIES > L.S'S STORY
My son and I went to the Dreamer premiere and party in LA last week. After the movie was over the theater cleared out
but the Fanning party stayed behind for about 20 minutes. Nobody told us to leave so
we just hung out with them and Kurt Russell. Elle was so sweet, quiet and wanting to
talk because the attention was on all Dakota. We spoke a little about Mexico and I
helped her to put on her sweater. She seemed surprised that somebody wanted to talk
to her and not just big sister. She was so happy to chat about her activity. We
walked them out to the limo. (Then security politely stepped in)
She (and Dakota) signed my "Secret Life of Bees" book and the picture of them
jumping on the bed in their home in LA. She is so tall, almost even with Dakota, and
so soft spoken and polite. Her manager, Cindy Osbrink, is always at her side, and
her mom is right there also. But they never try to grab the spotlight. At the party
Elle was still in the background, so we talked a little about Daddy Day Care and
Wynn Dixie. She likes to be in movies with other kids. It was just another day in
the life of a star. I wonder if Dakota is as quiet in the background when the party
is for an Elle movie!
When Elle looks you in the eye you can really see the talent that will continue to
develop. She looke right up at you but you need to lean down to hear her tiny voice.
